A head-of-wall connection for cold-formed steel framing beneath a concrete slab. A fourteen-gauge fast top clip connects the framing, utilizing FTC3 clips for three-and-five-eighths-inch studs or FTC5 clips for six-inch studs. Two quarter-inch-diameter Hilti HUS-EZ screw anchors at two-and-a-quarter-inch center-to-center spacing secure the FTC3 clips, while two three-eighths-inch-diameter Hilti HUS-EZ screw anchors at three-and-a-half-inch center-to-center spacing secure the FTC5 clips. Two deflection screws fasten the clip at FTC3 locations, and three deflection screws fasten the clip at FTC5 locations. A one-inch minimum to one-and-a-quarter-inch maximum gap is maintained between the top of the stud and the underside of the concrete.
