Metal grate treads with checkered plate nosing rest on three-inch steel stringers sized per structural plans. A three-sixteenth-inch thick painted perforated steel riser closure with solid edges is welded to the stringer. The guardrail assembly incorporates doubled one-half by three-inch vertical steel bars at four-foot maximum spacing, connected with three-quarter-inch diameter steel bolts with acorn caps. One-half-inch horizontal steel rods pass through the vertical bars to complete the railing infill.
