A 3-inch by 3-inch by 1/4-inch steel tube structural support is sandwiched between full-height steel studs forming a box post. The steel tube is secured to the stud channels on each side using three-eighths-inch bolts. The box post framing members are fastened together with number 8 Teks screws at 6 inches on center. The surrounding wall framing is finished with a water-resistant tile backer board, TCA W245 crack isolator membrane, thin-set mortar, and ceramic wall tile. A 1/2-inch caulked joint seals the junction at the tile face.
