A metal runner track secures the top of the cold-formed steel metal studs against the underside of the structural slab. Layers of gypsum board are screw-attached to both faces of the metal studs. A sound attenuation blanket fills the stud cavity for acoustic performance. Continuous acoustic sealant beads seal the joint between the gypsum board layers and the structural slab.
