The detail illustrates a 3-inch precast concrete cap featuring a 3/8-inch reveal, secured to the top of an 8-inch reinforced ground-face concrete masonry unit (CMU) wall. The connection is made using core-drilled pin with a number 3 reinforcing bar and epoxy embedded 4 inches below the cap and 1 1/2 inches within the seat, with two reinforcing bars at each segment. A sealant and backing rod are specified in the horizontal joint beneath the cap, and the CMU wall includes two number 4 reinforcing bars at 32 inches on center with alternate hooks.
