A concrete-filled steel pipe with a one-quarter-inch thick square plate welded to the bottom is embedded forty-two inches deep into a concrete footing. The base plate is set with three inches of clearance from the bottom of the footing. The top of the concrete is sloped and painted to match the post, which receives a galvanized, primed finish plus two coats of exterior enamel. In landscape areas, the exterior is set adjacent to paving or concrete with a footing two inches above finished grade featuring a one-half-inch radius tooled edge, while interior installations finish level with the building floor.
