A one-and-a-half-inch diameter steel pipe handrail is supported by a one-half-inch bent rod and bracket assembly. All welds are ground smooth, and the one-quarter-inch plate bracket edges are also ground smooth before the handrail is secured to the bracket using appropriately sized set screws. An escutcheon plate measuring three-eighths by one-and-a-half inches sits against the wall surface over fire-retardant treated wood blocking. The backing is anchored within a metal stud wall assembly, with wall types sized per the architectural plans.
