This upper cabinet attachment detail fastens to a metal stud and gypsum wallboard partition backed by a continuous steel or wood backing plate. A continuous 1x3 wood cleat anchored into the backing secures the cabinet back using two number 10 flathead sheet metal screws at 1 foot 4 inches on center. The top of the upper cabinet connects through the horizontal top member using number 12 flathead wood screws with countersunk finishing grommets at 1 foot 0 inches on center maximum, equally spaced. The cabinet is scribed to the wall at the top where the joint is potentially visible.
