A one-quarter inch expansion joint separates adjacent flooring types such as carpet, VCT, sheet vinyl, and tiles. The door frame and door sit above the threshold, with a maximum one-half inch clearance noted. A bond coat is specified under the marble threshold, and doors are undercut three-quarters of an inch unless noted otherwise for fire ratings.
