Tactile exit signage is positioned on the latch side of the door, with a minimum clearance of eighteen inches from the door frame to the center of the tactile characters. The sign is mounted at a height between forty-eight inches minimum and sixty inches maximum above the finish floor, measured to the tactile characters per California Building Code section 11B 703.4. Directional signage is required on doors that are not accessible to the nearest accessible exit door in accordance with California Building Code section 1009.10.
