The shelf assembly is constructed from three-quarter-inch marine-grade fire-retardant treated plywood with necessary blocking. A removable top panel is installed typically across the surface. The front edge is finished with a metal end cap, while the underside accommodates a light pad recessed into the plywood, as specified by electrical drawings. The assembly is finished with plastic laminate and includes integrated lighting components coordinated with electrical trades.
