The stud flanges are cut from the web and the web is bent up to form a two-inch minimum return. Three three-quarter-inch number ten pan head sheet metal screws secure the bent tab to the adjacent member. Additional three-quarter-inch number ten low-profile flat head sheet metal screws are placed on each stud on each side. A one-half-inch diameter powder-driven fastener anchors the assembly into the substrate.
