Two cold-formed steel framing connection details illustrate splice configurations for top or bottom tracks and steel studs. The steel track splice consists of aligned top or bottom tracks joined with a minimum twenty-four inch long piece of stud nested inside, fastened with six number six gauge screws on each flange of each side of the splice with a minimum twelve inch embedment length on each side. The steel stud splice comprises aligned steel studs connected with a twenty-four inch long piece of track nested over the exterior, similarly secured with six number six gauge screws on each flange of each side of the splice maintaining a minimum twelve inch extension past the joint.
