Pre-finished aluminum curtain wall system with one-inch insulated glazing transitions to a brick veneer over cold-formed steel stud framing at the window jamb. Window opening is wrapped with a self-adhered flashing over a fluid-applied air and vapor barrier applied directly to five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum sheathing. Stud cavity is fully filled with six inches of spray-applied closed cell thermal insulation, supplemented by two and a half inches of rigid cavity insulation. A three-quarter-inch dual stage sealant joint with a backer rod seals the perimeter between the aluminum frame and the masonry, while a perimeter caulk joint finishes the interior gypsum board and metal stud junction.
