The steel beam connects to the supporting column or girder web through a Grade 50 plate matching the beam web thickness with a one-half inch minimum. The shear tab is welded to the supporting member using fillet welds sized per drawings with three-sided welding. The connection is secured with one-inch diameter A325SC Class A slip-critical bolts configured in rows per the typical connection schedule. A maximum clearance of one-half inch is maintained typically at the beam end. The framing members are sized per plan.
