Suspended ceiling hanger wires and splayed seismic bracing wires are anchored to structural steel members and metal decks using specialized clips and steel straps. At steel beams, ceiling clips and steel straps attach to the beam flanges with fireproofing patched where removed for clip installation. Alternate deck attachment methods accommodate eighteen-gauge minimum metal decks using direct hanger clip attachment, or twenty-gauge minimum decks using a three-inch wide by twelve-gauge minimum steel strap secured with two number ten by one-half-inch self-tapping screws. An alternate hanger wire attachment wraps around a number three by twelve-inch long rebar embedded in the concrete deck with three wraps around the rebar and one wrap around the wire. Vertical hanger wires and splayed seismic bracing wires maintain required clearances and seismic restraint.
