A metal sleeve sized three-eighths of an inch larger than the outside diameter of the pipe or duct is installed at penetrations for services greater than two inches in diameter, with the annular space filled with safing batt insulation and sealed with non-formaldehyde acoustical sealant. The partition wall is filled with sound attenuation fire blanket insulation and finished with gypsum board as scheduled. Electrical junction boxes are fitted with an outlet box pad and sealed with non-formaldehyde acoustical sealant at the perimeter. A minimum twenty-four-inch stud cavity is maintained between back-to-back penetrations. The bottom track is secured to the floor with one-eighth-inch diameter power-actuated fasteners spaced at twenty-four inches on center and two inches from the partition end, with non-formaldehyde acoustic sealant applied at both layers of a double-layer assembly.
