A hollow metal door frame sits beneath a framed header constructed with multiple nested metal studs within a gypsum board partition. Shims are placed as necessary between the door frame and the structural header to achieve proper alignment and level. Hollow metal casing trim pieces finish the junction where the frame meets the wall finish on each side.
