An aluminum window frame secures fixed glass at the head of the opening below a framed wall assembly. The wall framing consists of 3-5/8 inch metal studs nested in a metal track, faced on each side with 5/8 inch Type X gypsum board over metal framing. Insulation fills the cavity where required by thermal or acoustical conditions. A metal track provides structural support at the head condition above the window frame.
