A structural steel column is framed with one and five-eighths inch studs and enclosed with five-eighths inch gypsum board to achieve a two-hour fire rating per UL X528. A quarter-inch thick fiberglass reinforced plastic wainscot extends up to eight feet above finished floor. Surface-mounted corner guards protect the exterior corners of the assembly.
