A metal stud compression strut bears against a suspended lay-in ceiling grid, secured at the T-bar using two 12-14 sheet metal screws. Four horizontal 12-gauge seismic splay brace wires with a minimum of four turns per wire provide lateral support, while continuous 12-gauge splay wires extend upward to the underside of the structure. The metal stud flange is notched on both sides to accommodate the lay-in tile.
