A 6-inch diameter steel pipe bollard is embedded into an 18-inch diameter concrete footing set within a compacted subgrade. The surrounding concrete sidewalk slopes away from the bollard for drainage and is separated by a 1/2-inch premolded joint filler with sealant. A crushed aggregate layer lies beneath the sidewalk adjacent to the footing. The exposed steel pipe is fitted with a plastic bollard cover, specified as OSHA yellow for the store rear and custom green for the store front.
