A nominal one and one-quarter to two-inch diameter metal grab bar mounts to a wall per architectural plans using manufacturer-specified fasteners and supports. The mounting support and fasteners resist a two hundred fifty pound point load in bending, shear, and torsion. A minimum one-foot clearance is maintained above the grab bar, and all surrounding wall surfaces remain free of sharp or abrasive elements.
