An electric remote-control valve connects inline with mainline and lateral schedule 80 PVC piping via unions and nipples, preceded by an isolation gate valve and followed by a disc filter and pressure regulator combination. The entire assembly rests upon a six-inch minimum depth of one-inch washed aggregate with brick foundations supporting the pipe ends. Control wires and a decoder connect to a two-wire path routed through electrical conduit into the valve box. The valve box is set flush to the finish grade of the mulch, maintaining a minimum clearance of two inches above the internal components.
