Pre-applied sheet membrane waterproofing is applied directly to the exterior face of the concrete elevator pit wall. A one-quarter-inch protection board shields the membrane from damage during backfilling. Membrane laps measure four inches typical and are sealed with a six-inch-wide tape. Backfill consists of eighty-five percent compacted soil.
