A plastic laminate countertop features a rolled edge and a four-inch backsplash, supported by two-by-four wood counter framing anchored securely through the wall into blocking at two feet on center. A two-inch by one-half-inch stainless steel bar is bent and welded to form the counter support, anchored securely to the wall backing and spaced at a maximum of four feet on center. Two-by-eight wood blocking is installed at each support location, and the finished counter height is set at two feet ten inches.
