A window head and jamb junction at a concrete tilt-up wall features a chamfered edge above the window opening, maintaining a 3/8-inch clearance to the window frame with shims as required alongside sealant over backer rod at each side. An interior furred wall consists of 5/8-inch gypsum board over 3-5/8-inch, 20-gauge metal studs spaced at 16 inches on center with 3-1/2-inch R-13 batt insulation, leaving a 1/2-inch air space behind the concrete. A header per sheet 16/AD.9 supports the interior wall framing.
