This two-hour rated horizontal shaftwall assembly consists of a minimum two-and-a-half-inch CH shaftwall stud spaced at twenty-four inches on center, with stud depth varying according to the required span. The shaft or plenum side receives a one-inch shaft liner, while the room side is finished with two layers of five-eighths-inch Type-X gypsum board over minimum two-and-a-half-inch acoustic insulation placed in the cavity.
