The top guardrail consists of a 1 1/4-inch nominal pipe size steel pipe positioned 3 feet 6 inches above the nosing or floor. The handrail maintains a 1 1/2-inch clearance from the adjacent balusters and sits 3 feet 0 inches above the nosing or floor.
