An HSS 8x8 hollow structural section beam frames into a W8 wide flange column. The connection utilizes L4x4x1/2 angle clips measuring nine inches long, positioned at the top and bottom flanges. Five-sixteenth inch fillet welds secure the angles to each flange, while one-quarter inch welds are applied to three sides. A vertical through-bolt assembly with a half-inch clearance connects the beam assembly to the column web or flange per plan.
