Cold-formed steel ceiling joists frame into a continuous track secured to a metal stud wall with three number 8 screws at each stud. Top or bottom track splices utilize a twenty-four-inch minimum piece of stud fastened with six number 6 gauge screws on each flange and each side of the splice. Steel stud splices are similarly detailed with a twenty-four-inch long piece of track.
