A two-hour fire-rated interior partition head assembly terminates at a concrete slab on a metal deck. A top track runner with a fire-rated shadowline and PosiKlip stud attachments supports metal studs faced with 5/8-inch Type X gypsum wallboard on both sides. Gypsum board is fastened to the metal studs only, maintaining a clearance gap at the structural deck above. Mineral wool fire safing and static fire-and-smoke sealant match the required partition rating at the deck interface. The condition is detailed both perpendicular and parallel to the fluted metal deck profiles.
