Door maneuvering clearances require a minimum side clearance of 4 feet 0 inches or 3 feet 6 inches depending on the approach direction, with a maximum wall depth of 0 inches to 8 inches from the face of the door. Where the adjacent wall face exceeds 200 millimeters from the door face, a forward approach is required while maintaining the 200 millimeter maximum depth. Additional minimum dimensions of 1 foot 10 inches and 2 feet 0 inches apply to latch side clearances, along with a 1067 millimeter minimum for doors without a closer or latch.
