The top of a cold-formed steel stud wall frames up to a concrete mezzanine slab supported by metal decking and open-web steel joists. The double two-by metal stud track interfaces with a half-inch maximum gap beneath the underside of the deck. A UL-listed firestop is installed within this gap alongside mineral wool insulation to maintain the required fire-resistance rating. Gypsum board finishes the stud wall on both sides, terminating below the slab intersection.
