A stair tread and stringer assembly finished with stone elements. The stair pan receives a carpet and pad finish on the tread. The stair stringer is faced with one layer of plywood on the interior side and two layers of plywood forming the outer riser and cap support. A stone side piece covers the exterior face, topped with a stone cap and sealed with a caulk joint. A four-inch maximum dimension governs the clearance or overhang at the upper junction.
