Mechanical ductwork penetrating a single-ply roof membrane is waterproofed with a hot-air welded single-ply membrane flashing extending a minimum of eight inches up the side of the duct. A PVC flashing membrane umbrella is fitted over the duct, with its top edge set in sealant and secured by a stainless steel hose clamp over a clean surface. The single-ply membrane flashing is hot-air welded to the surrounding roof membrane.
