A one-half-inch diameter threaded rod extends downward from the bottom chord of an existing steel bar joist, secured by double hex nut and locking washer assemblies top and bottom. Back-to-back Unistrut P1001 channels, measuring one and five-eighths by three and one-quarter inches, sit atop the joist bottom chord with washers as required. The hanger assembly is positioned a maximum of six inches from the panel point.
