Air flows from a main trunk duct supplied by an air handling unit through a side takeoff fitting featuring a square-to-round transition boot. Sheet metal screws fasten through a one-inch flange with an adhesive coated gasket at four inches on center. A flexible duct connects the takeoff to the terminal unit, limited to a maximum length of five feet. The round duct leading into the terminal unit matches the inlet size and maintains a length equal to three inlet diameters.
