A high fence base assembly features an embedded 6-5/8-inch diameter extra-strong galvanized steel post weighing 28.57 pounds per foot. The post is surrounded by 8x8x16-inch concrete masonry unit blocks with fully grouted cells and fully grouted flush joints. Vertical reinforcement consists of No. 5 bars spaced at 16 inches on center, supplemented by No. 5 horizontal bars at 16 inches on center and three continuous No. 5 bars at the footing. Redwood boards are attached to the field side of the assembly with a 0.5-inch layer of styrofoam separating components.
