This isometric detail shows a six-inch wide, sixteen-gauge metal plate spanning across a minimum of three cold-formed metal studs to support wall-mounted equipment and accessories up to fifty pounds. The backing plate attaches to the framing using four number fourteen self-tapping pan head sheet metal screws spaced one inch from the edge and one inch on center at each metal stud. Double metal studs occur at openings with minimum 362S162-33 or 600S162-33 stud sizes depending on the partition type. Number twelve by one-and-one-half-inch self-tapping pan head sheet metal screws secure accessories to the backing plate.
