A one-and-a-half-inch outside diameter painted steel pipe rail connects to a three-quarter-inch outside diameter steel bracket welded directly to the handrail with all joints ground smooth and painted. The bracket mounts to a concealed anchor plate using three typical one-quarter-inch concealed sheet metal screws. A three-and-one-quarter-inch diameter painted escutcheon conceals the anchor plate and fasteners against the mounting surface.
