A drain pipe penetrates through a concrete walk and curb assembly. A drain transition manifold connects to the pipe, which is positioned a minimum of four feet from the curb. A quarter-inch galvanized steel angle extends a minimum of four inches on each side of the manifold. An eighth-inch asphalt-impregnated sheathing is cut to fit and surrounds the pipe, typical at all pipe-curb penetrations. Number four reinforcing bars are placed at the pipe curb penetration and extend 36 inches past the opening. The surrounding area is bermed up to provide a minimum of two inches of ground cover over the drain pipe, maintaining a slope of one-eighth inch per foot minimum.
