This two-hour fire-rated shaftwall assembly complies with Underwriters Laboratories system UL U415, System E, extending up to a height of 10 feet above finished floor. The partition consists of 4-inch, 20-gauge minimum C-H metal studs spaced at 24 inches on center, carrying a 1-inch gypsum board liner panel and one layer of 5/8-inch gypsum board on each side. A 3-1/2-inch layer of insulation is installed in the cavity between the studs. The side facing the hangar door pocket is finished with horizontal 9-inch rib metal panels manufactured by McElroy as Max-Rib.
