A cold-formed metal stud wall terminates below a concrete-filled metal deck using a slotted track designed for a slip connection. Mineral fibre insulation fills the gap above the track, sealed on both sides with SpecSeal Smoke 'N' Sound spray grade and painted to match adjacent surfaces. Metal studs are framed within the wall and filled with sound insulation as noted, with gypsum board left unfastened to the track to allow vertical deflection.
