A fire-rated control joint provides a five-eighths inch gap between adjacent sections of gypsum board wall assemblies. The wall framing consists of metal wall studs aligned at the joint. Gypsum board and wall finishes are applied over the framing, with specific types determined per architectural wall assemblies. A specialized fire-rated control joint is installed within the gap in accordance with project specifications.
