The storefront header assembly integrates with the wall framing through a series of weather-resistive barrier and flashing layers. A minimum 22-gauge sheet metal closure flashing is installed over the horizontal furring and laps onto the rough opening. The weather-resistive barrier (WRB-1) is pre-stripped and lapped from the face of the sheathing into the rough opening by a minimum of 2.75 inches, while the field WRB-1 is lapped over the pre-strip and set in sealant. Interior air barrier sealant and backer rod tie the storefront perimeter to the continuous air barrier. The interior finish includes a channel or angle molding, a shade power and data channel, and an automatic shade system, all sealed with flexible sealant at the storefront interface.
