Three variations of steel pipe guardrails and handrails anchor into a concrete landing slab using two-inch diameter by twelve-inch long steel pipe sleeves cast into the concrete. Vertical steel pipe posts space at six feet on center maximum, with number four reinforcing bars at twenty-four inches long placed at each side of the post. Horizontal rails consist of one-and-a-half-inch primed and painted steel pipe spaced at regular intervals, with welded brackets supporting handrails where required. All welds are ground smooth. General notes direct coordination with soils reports for slab preparation and structural drawings for reinforcing requirements.
