Rated and smoke partitions continue uninterrupted behind the pipe enclosure framed with non-load-bearing metal studs and gypsum wallboard. Concealed joints in rated or smoke walls require taping and sealing per the specific Underwriters Laboratories design of the partition type. Pipe size is verified with a minimum two-inch clearance specified. Metal framing and partition types are coordinated per the architectural sheets.
