A structural steel beam frames into a rigid frame column web using a bolted shear tab connection with no slotted holes. The shear tab extends down to the bottom-most continuity plate, with an additional bolt added when the dimension exceeds four and a half inches. Continuity plates are welded across the column web aligned with the beam flanges. A half-inch plate and specific fillet weld sizes apply depending on whether the connection serves shallower beams like W8 through W14 or deeper beams starting at W16.
