A 4x2.5x1/4-inch hollow structural section sun shade horizontal support is secured over wood blocking and sheathed with three-quarter-inch wood panels. An ethylene propylene diene monomer membrane is adhered to the sheathing using bonding adhesive and secured with gasketed fasteners spaced at one inch on center. A two-and-a-half-inch pipe penetrates the membrane through a formed flashing sealed with continuous butyl tape and sealant. A sun shade frame and sun shade material are mounted above on a vertical support post.
